About Johanna
Jo Tysk is the Creative Director of Tyskie World that she founded in her home town Stockholm in 2009 after returning from five years in the US – four years in Atlanta in the American South where she earned a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, and one year in New York where she worked for digital ad agency Publicis Modem.
Upon returning to Stockholm, Jo moved to Tensta across the field from where she was raised in Akalla, and decided to replant her American-influenced self in intercultural Swedish soil.
During Tyskie World´s first few years, Jo´s design clients and collaboration partners included ad agencies, production firms, artists, children´s brand Tröstisar, as well as community-oriented projects such as Love Tensta. In recent times, her practice has moved towards a stronger emphasis on creative leadership through self-initiated network and movement Creative Call, and brand KOKO for which she is currently making plans and looking for collaboration partners.
